Baked Million Dollar Spaghetti

Baked million dollar spaghetti

Did y'all know that when your kid leaves the nest, you go insane?  I am not talking just a little off the rocker, I am talking bat shit crazy!  Like trying to think of excuses to make the 6 hour drive every weekend (not kidding, every weekend) kind of crazy.  Like obsessing over every little thing: how she is feeling, what is she eating, does she have enough money to buy groceries, wait, OMG can she even cook? And that’s when a light bulb went off! “I can live video chat and show her recipes and teach her stuff from afar!” I thought.  And so I did, and shockingly enough, she loves it!  Now almost every Sunday is family night at her house.  All of her friends come over and she makes these yummy dinners for everyone.  Ahhhhmazing!  And the best part?  She calls me a lot to find out how to make stuff! #momscore #Mydaughterneedsme #imacoolmom

A hit at Britt’s Sunday family night is always my Ahhhhmazing Million Dollar Spaghetti recipe. So today I am going to share with you, including substitutions to make it budget friendly and still yummylicious!

  • 15 oz. tomato sauce
  • 1.5 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 2 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2  lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb Italian sausage
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 16 oz. spaghetti
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese

    1. Cook spaghetti noodles until al dente. Drain. (about 8 minutes)
    2. Cook and drain ground beef and sausage
    3. Combine tomato sauce, garlic salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Add drained meat
    4. Combine sour cream, cottage cheese, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and garlic salt. Mix until well blended. pour over spaghetti noodles and mix to coat noodles
    5. Add spaghetti to the pan.  Pour tomato sauce/meat combo over noodles. Top with grated cheese
    6.  Place pan in 375-degree oven, cover with foil and bake 45 minutes. Remove foil and let bake another 10 minutes until cheese is ooey gooey
    Budget-friendly version:
    Use all ground beef
buy a large jar of marinara instead of making your sauce.
For college kids, you can divide this in 3 8x8 pans, freeze 2 before baking and keep that third pan out for dinner.  oven temp to 375, but bake 30 min covered with foil then uncover to get the ooey gooey cheese.  When you wanna bake your other pans, let them thaw for 48 hours in the frig, then follow the 30 min baking time.
